Plant Chemicals can be toxic: The use of palm oil has resulted in a loss of habitat for animals such as orangutans.
It might come as a shock but our earth doesn’t exist or produce solely for human consumption. There is a fine ecosystem and if we abuse it, we will suffer the consequences. Some plants can be sustainably harvested, and some cannot. Using the valuable resources of the earth can really damage the environment. Think about palm oil and how its use has resulted in a loss of habitat for orangutans. Humans use the earth’s resources for food, fuel, and clothing and this has resulted in plant biomass reducing 50% in the past 10K years. Nature gives us so much — let’s make sure we pay it back with good choices.
